Theatre Row Rehearsal Studios Reopening!
As we look forward to reopening theater spaces in New York City, Theatre Row Rehearsal Studios are preparing to open on a part-time basis beginning Tuesday, May 4th! We will be open on Tuesdays – Saturdays, 10:00am – 6:00pm. We can operate at 66% capacity and will be observing current Covid-19 protocols including contact tracing and health screenings. Masks must be worn in all public areas and social distancing will be enforced. Updates from Our Companies-in-Residence
Keen Company’s 21st Season continues to reimagine the classic radio drama with the debut of two more world premiere audio plays from a multifaceted group of Off-Broadway playwrights. In addition to already released audio works by Pearl Cleage, James Anthony Tyler and finkle, Hear/Now welcomes patrons into a theater of their imagination in April and May, showcasing new work by Kate Cortesi and musical team Melissa Li and Kit Yan. All audio plays will be released completely FREE for everyone on Keen Company’s website as well as through popular podcast platforms.
Ma-Yi Theater Company is committed to presenting and developing new work from Asian American artists, as well as amplifying organizations and groups that are fighting the ongoing white supremacist violence against Asians and Asian Americans. This spring and summer, Ma-Yi Theater Company will be presenting a slate of new content from Asian American artists, including an original short film Vancouver, presented in association with The Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival.
Mint Theater Company (Jonathan Bank, Producing Artistic Director) will continue their highly popular Silver Lining Streaming Series with four more three-camera archival recordings (all filmed in HD!). Current and upcoming streaming offerings include Women Without Men by Hazel Ellis (February 22 – April 18), Yours Unfaithfullyby Miles Malleson (March 22 – May 16), A Picture of Autumn by N.C Hunter (April 19 – June 13), and The Fatal Weakness by George Kelly (May 17 – June 13). Each show is available through free on-demand streaming at minttheater.org.
This Spring, join New York City Children’s Theater for a filmed version of their hit show, The Traveler, starring legendary mime Bill Bowers! A love letter to modern-day immigrants who travel thousands of miles in search of a new home, The Traveler, is a silent and whimsical tale of one man’s journey.
