The choreography by David Eggers and Merete Muenter is flirty and smart. The glitzy costumes by Wendall Goings are fantastic. Quinn Lemley sparkles in front of a full live band playing hits from Vaudeville to modern musicals.
I wouldn’t go see the show for the plot lines or dialogue (there are a few choice ‘punn-y’ jokes sprinkled throughout in true Vaudeville style) but the dances are fun and the costumes and music are lively and entertaining. From the small taste I got at the Florence Gould Hall’s showcase on January 11th, a decision to see the entertaining mavens strut around in glittery get-ups may be well worth a trip in February. The show’s Off-Broadway premiere at the Gramercy Theatre runs four night from February 5 to 8.
Tickets are tantalizingly priced from $30 to $49, and VIP packages stacked with goodies for either $69 or $159.50. For tickets visit www.ticketmaster.com or www.burlesquetobroadway.com
